Some History and Facts about the B&O Railroad Museum


The B&O Railroad Museum is considered to have the oldest and most comprehensive collection of railroad history in the Western Hemisphere. It is a unique cultural and educational asset for the city and the region. An unparalleled roster of the 19th and 20th century railroad equipment, original shop buildings, and surviving tracks at the historic Mt. Clare site provide an integrated resource to present virtually every aspect of American railroad development and its impact on our society, culture and economy.

In the event that all train rides are sold out, the B&O Railroad Museum will offer an on-site admission at $20 for adults, $17 for Seniors (60+), $12 for Children (2-12). Parking is free! For more information call 410-752-2490 during normal business hours. 901 West Pratt St., Baltimore, MD 21223

Please note that everyone including B&O members will need to purchase a Day Out With Thomas train ride ticket or admission to this event admittance into the B&O Railroad Museum and/or the event. No discounts, coupons, complimentary passes, consignment tickets, vouchers, membership cards, etc. are accepted during this six day event.

The train ride also included a variety of Thomas & Friends themed entertainment, including Storytelling and Video Viewing, Temporary Tattoos of Island of Sodor friends, and the Imagination Station with Arts & Crafts and more. The boys also looked forward to finding that rare Thomas train they needed for their collection which was only available at the event.
