Georgia Veterans State Park is a state park located on Lake Blackshear in Crisp County, west of Cordele, Georgia. It was established in December 4, 1946 as a memorial to U.S. Veterans.
The SAMShortline Excursion Train is an awesome travel experience for you, friends and family. This is Georgia's only rolling state park which combines the rich history of the area and classic railroad travel with pleasure and relaxation. Their vintage train cars vary in ambiance but all provide temperature controlled comfort with large windows to view the passing Southwest Georgia scenery. Recently two new luxury private cars have now been added to the train providing a special vantage point like no other.
For two weekends only, Thomas will visit the Historic SAM Shortline Railroad at Georgia Veterans State Park in southwest Georgia. You can spend a whole day with the beloved storybook engine, Sir Topham Hatt and other friends.

DIRECTIONS
Park inside Georgia Veterans State Park ($5 daily fee). A FREE shuttle will take you to the train depot just a short ride away. Please arrive at least 1 hour before your train departure.
